It's Traditional Memorial Day.
Weather: Gorgeously cool, sunny, and dry.
Temperatures in the 60's, headed to near 80F this afternoon
Today would have been mother's 90th birthday and the family will be gathering here at my brother's for a memorial and celebration of Nana's life. Tomorrow morning, Karen and I will stop by her grave in Rosemont, New Jersey, plant a geranium (one of her favorites), and begin the final leg of our trip back to Vermont and home.
It's been a long and unique trip, with lots of ups and downs. And unless my back problems improve, not likely, it may also be our last long distance driving trip west of the Mississippi. If we're going to see any more of the West or visit friends out there, we'll need to fly or take the train.
