Grande Prairie, Alberta
Tuesday, August 26, 2008, 8:45 pm Mountain Time
Sun setting, cool and dry; temperature 57F
Altitude: 657 meters (about 2,157 feet; we're tired of converting, so to sync our calculations with local maps and signage, we've switched both the GPS and the Explorer's computers to metric)
I thought I'd try one more time to post this picture--and it uploaded in about a minute! Go figure.
This was taken through the windshield just east of Jasper town as we left this morning a little before 8 am. The sun was hitting the top of the mountains, but the valley floors were still in the morning shadows. The oncoming car gives a bit of perspective. It was just one of many "wow!" moments.
